Western Kentucky University (WKU) is a public university in Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA. It was formally founded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1906. WKU's Nursing, Journalism and Photojournalism programs rank among the best in the country. The photojournalism department has won numerous awards. As of 2007, more than 25 alumni of WKU's photo and print journalism programs have been honored with the Pulitzer Prize.  WKU offers eighty majors and seventy minors, as well as intensive English studies and scholarships for international students.

Centre College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in Danville, Kentucky.
